Each year, the Albemarle County Rotary Club organizes an annual fundraising event to provide college scholarships to local students and support exceptional nonprofits. In the past, our efforts have raised over $30,000 to further these important initiatives.
This year, we’re excited to continue hosting a successful Pickleball Classic. Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America, and this event will bring together players of all ages and skill levels for a day of fun and friendly competition.

Pickleball Classic Beneficiaries
The lead beneficiary in 2026 is Botanical Garden of the Piedmont, specifically supporting a key program called Every Kindergartener in the Garden. This youth outreach initiative provides hands-on activities for children in the greater Charlottesville area to engage in their natural habitats, develop nature literacy, and cultivate appreciation for the environment. The program includes hands-on activities that use kindergarten standards applied to the outdoors. Rather than introducing names and data, they focus on comparing, contrasting, and noticing? Taking advantage of the basic senses to hear bird calls, see leaf shapes, smell crushed leaves, and touch bark, flowers, and nuts. The event also provides scholarships to local high school and PVCC students.
